In this screen capture from the newly-released Wizard of Oz Blu-ray Disc, you can clearly see the grain structure of the film frame, especially in the background areas. Also of note is the shallow depth of field obtained using 35mm film cameras - Dorthy’s face is in focus but the background is far out of focus.
